Council is seeking an organised and enthusiastic Admin Assistant to support the Chief Executive Officer, Senior Managers, Mayor and Councillors.
The role provides high level administrative support, including coordination of Council documentation and filing professional correspondence. You will play a key role in ensuring day to day operations run smoothly.
Assist Council to meet its legislative requirements within applicable Acts and Regulations.
The successful applicant will have the following:
- Able to pass a National Police Check.
- Strong reading and writing skills.
- Open Manual “C” Class current Driver’s Licence.

aged care support Worker – Bus Driver
part-time Position
Caring for our Elders, supporting our Community.
Support our community by providing safe transport and everyday care—helping people stay independent, connected, and well.
What you will do:
- Drive clients to appointments, airport transfers, shopping & activities
- Safely assist clients in and out of vehicles
- Follow rosters, transport schedules and approved passenger requirements
- Keep vehicles clean & maintain
- Complete transport records

ROADS CREW
CASUAL POSITION
Do you take pride in keeping our community connected and safe?
Join Council and help maintain and build the roads our community relies on every day.
This hands-on role works as part of the Roads Crew—supporting maintenance, operating equipment, and helping create safe and reliable roads for everyone.
Be part of keeping Pormpuraaw moving and strong.
What you will do:
- Assist with general labouring duties for road maintenance and construction workseneral labouring duties and use small equipment associated with the maintenance and construction of roads
- Use small equipment and operate plant/machinery where trained, licensed and authorised
- Follow safe work practices and report hazards, incidents or equipment issues to the supervisor
What you will need:
- Current class C driver’s license
- Construction induction card
- Physical fitness to complete outdoor labouring duties including the ability to lift and work in all weather conditions

bakery Retail Assistant / Kitchen Hand

Responsibilities
- Support the baker with daily food preparation.

Post Office Customer Service / Cashier
Fulltime Position
We are inviting a positive and motivated community member to join our Community Services team as a Post Office / Cashier Customer Service Officer.
The successful applicant will have the following:
- This is an important community-facing role that provides friendly, respectful, and efficient customer service at the Post Office, helping community members access essential services.
- We are looking for someone who enjoys working with people, is comfortable using computers and handling payments, and works well as part of a supportive team.
- No previous experience is required, as full training will be provided. The successful applicant will be reliable, committed, trustworthy, and take pride in delivering a high standard of service to the community.
The successful applicant will have the following:

- An interest in handling money and transactions (experience is welcome but not essential).
- A friendly and respectful approach to customer service.

Ranger
Casual Positions (3 days per week)
Help care for Country — our land and sea.
We’re looking for enthusiastic Land & Sea Rangers to protect and manage natural resources, support vital ranger programs, and make a meaningful impact in the community.
Responsibilities
- Work on Country caring for beaches, rivers and wetlands.
- Help with clean-ups, ghost net collection, weed & feral control.
- Do basic surveys and monitoring using GPS/camera.
- Support Junior Rangers and community activities.
- Look after equipment and work safely in a team.
The successful applicant will have the following:
- Interest in Caring for Country and ranger work.
- Ability to work outdoors in remote conditions.
- Good teamwork and willingness to learn.
- Willingness to use GPS/camera and basic digital tools.
- Current QLD Driver’s licence.
- A positive attitude and reliability.
Desirable
- First Aid / 4WD / boat licence.
- Current Blue Card or willingness to obtain.
